Why I Built The Next Step Method

Ruslan Chaplygin, Creator of The Next Step Method

I come from a tech and operations background, where much of my career has involved long days sitting in front of a screen.

As my work became more desk-based, I became increasingly intentional about making fitness and sound nutrition a consistent part of my life.

For years, I approached fitness the same way many active people do. I tracked my workouts, logged my nutrition, monitored my body weight, and stayed consistent.

But when it was time to lose fat, I was not looking for more motivation or another workout program. I was looking for a clear direction.

I wanted to know one thing: What is the right adjustment to make this week?

I turned to coaching, but what I found was that many coaches were asking for information I was already tracking—weight, nutrition, training, activity, and measurements—and using that information to determine what I should do next.

That experience made clear that the real value was not simply collecting more data, but knowing how to interpret it and decide what to do next.

I started organizing the science of nutrition, training, recovery, and habit formation into a framework that answered one question: Given what is happening right now, what is the best next step?

I’m not trying to replace hard work when it comes to fitness. I’m removing the guesswork that causes so many people to overreact, lose momentum, or give up entirely when progress slows.

I know this program works because I was the first participant.

I invite you to take this journey with a plan tailored to you every step of the way.
